The CGL(Combined Graduate Level) Exam is one of the most important exams conducted by SSC(Staff Selection Commission). This exam is conducted by SSC for graduate-level students.

This exam is conducted by SSC every year. The student who passed this exam is selected in various posts of the central government. This exam recruits Grade ”B” and Grade “C” officers.

This exam is conducted in English and Hindi Medium in Online mode. 

    What is SSC CGL Exam Eligibility?

    The eligibility requirement for this examination is candidate must be a citizen of India and have a bachelor's degree in any discipline.

    This exam is carried out in four tiers. The first two tiers are online mode and latter two are conducted in offline mode. 

    What is SSC CGL Exam Syllabus?

    The syllabus of the SSC CGL Exam contains Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language.

    What is SSC CGL Exam Pattern?

    The time duration for Tier-I is 60 minutes, Tier-II is 120 minutes, Tier-III is 60 minutes and Tier-IV is 45 minutes. The candidate should pass all the tiers to select in the exam.

    SSC CGL Exam Shifts:

    The Exam will be conducted on different shifts. The timing of the examination is printed on the Candidates Admit card.

    Multiple choice questions are asked in Tier I and Tier II exams. Descriptive questions are asked in the Tier III Exam. Skill Test is taken in Tier IV Exam whenever required.


    The age relaxation for OBC Candidate is 3 Years, for SC/ST Candidate is 5 Years, for Physically Handicapped + General candidate is 10 Years, for Physically Handicapped + OBC is 13 Years, for Physically Handicapped + SC/ST is 15 Years, for Ex-Servicemen(General) is 3 Years, for Ex-Servicemen(OBC) is 6 Years and Ex-Servicemen(SC/ST) is 8 Years.

    Exam Fee:

    The Examination Fee for SSC CGL is 100 Rs. except for SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates.

    The minimum age to apply SSC CGL Exam is 18 years and the maximum age is 32 years. You are not eligible to apply for the exam if you are in the final year. You should complete the graduation to apply for this exam.

    The candidate can pay the fee through Online and Offline Mode. You can pay fees online through a Credit card, Debit card, Netbanking. If you want to pay the fee through offline mode then take a printout of the online generated challan and pay to any SBI Branch during bank working hours.

    The Admit Card for the Exam is generated before a few days of the Exam. You have to download the Admit card and take a printout of the Admit card. One Identity proof is required at the time of the Exam. Read the instruction carefully on the Admit card before going to Exam.

    The result will be released after each Tier of the Exam. There is a separate cut-off of marks for each Tier. The answer key is released within 15 days of the Exam.

    There is a negative marking in the SSC CGL Exam for each wrong answer.
